April Rhatigan
April is a licensed social worker with a passion for supporting children, adolescents, and adults as they navigate life's challenges. In her practice, she utilizes a variety of therapeutic modalities tailored to each individual’s unique needs, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), play therapy, and mindfulness techniques. She is dedicated to providing psycho-education to help clients and their families understand and manage mental health challenges. With a commitment to well-being and empowerment, April strives to guide individuals on their journey toward healing and growth.
A client who had struggled with chronic self-doubt finally realized that their fear of failure was rooted in childhood messages about not being "good enough," which allowed them to reframe their inner narrative. In our session, they expressed feeling lighter, as if a weight had been lifted, and committed to challenging negative self-talk in their daily life.
In the initial sessions I place emphasis on establishing trust and identifying client's goals, followed by exploring the client's emotions, behaviors, and underlying issues in a safe, nonjudgmental space. Through ongoing sessions, I work together with the client to develop coping strategies, gain insights, and make meaningful changes to improve mental and emotional well-being.
The initial therapy session focuses on building rapport and trust. We'll explore your background information, discuss confidentiality, and explore the reasons for seeking help. It’s an opportunity for the client to share their concerns and for me to begin understanding the your needs, setting the foundation for the therapeutic work ahead.
As a therapist, I am motivated by the opportunity to help others uncover their inner strength and navigate challenges, knowing that small shifts can lead to meaningful transformations in their lives. Witnessing clients experience growth, healing, and moments of clarity fuels my passion for supporting their journey toward well-being.
