She has extensive experience treating PTSD and complex PTSD, including co-occurring diagnoses such as PTSD and Alcohol Use Disorder. Her background includes work with a private practice that specialized in trauma and PTSD, with a particular focus on Military, Veterans, and First Responders. Ariel remains dedicated to helping clients work through their experiences and find healing in the face of adversity.
One of the biggest break throughs that my clients achieve is finding their voice, being able to advocate for themselves, and set healthy boundaries that they desire.
Clients have a choice of utilizing DBT, EMDR, or couples therapy to aid in processing their experiences and identifying healthy ways to cope with those experiences. They can expect that I will discuss their history at their own pace and identify healthy ways to cope with these experiences. All of this will ultimate lead to their "graduation of therapy", (i.e. being discharged from treatment).
During my first session, I identify what the presenting problem is and understanding how this problem impacts them. I ensure that I gather information about the client in order to understand how to best identify goals with the client. Ensuring that the client feels that their therapy isa collaborative approach and feel in control of their treatment.
My motivation stems from my own history and my passion for helping those with difficult pasts navigate healthier ways to cope with their experiences.I thoroughly enjoy helping clients make break throughs and ensuring that they never feel alone in the process.
Highlights
What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?
Clients can take away the ability to advocate for themselves, set healthy boundaries, and identify healthy coping skills. I also provide the space to process their experiences in a safe and non-judgmental space so that they can identify their goals and ideas of how to achieve their goals in a collaborative approach.
What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?
I utilize evidence-based therapies, including Psychotherapy, Client-Centered Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness Therapy & Trauma-Focused Therapy.
Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.
My biggest strengths are being able to understand how PTSD impacts a client and providing a person-centered approach surrounding the client's ability to identify healthy ways for them to cope with whatever issues or concerns they are going through. Being able to provide a safe space for the client to discuss their history and not feel judged at any point about their experiences or how they may have coped with their experiences.
