A client that I started seeing came because he was experiencing low-self esteem and trouble managing his emotions. Throughout our session, we were able to uncover past experiences that have lead to his feelings of low self-esteem. The client's realization of these events helped him better understand himself to begin to make progress on better managing his emotions.
Clients can expect a counseling process to start with creating goals for their treatment and continue to make smaller achievable goals along the way to help the client get to the point that they want to be at.
From the moment we begin, I want you to feel comfortable and able to talk and express your emotions. A first session with me would be about gaining some information about what brings you to therapy and creating a rapport with you.
I became a therapist because I have always been drawn to the idea that we all have potential for growth, healing, and change within us. I believe that external support can help to unlock people's potential. Growing up, I saw how important it is to have someone who can help make sense of life's challenges and find your own path forward.
