Kelly Martin
Kelly is a Supervisee in Social Work working toward becoming a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Virginia. She earned her master’s degree in Social Work from Norfolk State University in 2016. Kelly has experience working with individuals, couples, and families facing challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, military-related issues, and difficulties in functioning at home, work, and within relationships. Additionally, she has extensive experience working with clients who have Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities.
Through trauma-informed interventions and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, I helped a client suffering from PTSD due to childhood trauma effectively process his experiences, gain coping skills, and work toward healing.
My counseling approach is laid-back and client-centered, focusing on a strengths-based perspective while meeting clients where they are. I strive to create a supportive and empowering space that honors each person's unique journey.
The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and ensure we’re a good fit. We’ll explore the challenges you’re facing and your reasons for seeking therapy in a supportive and judgment-free space.
I find nothing more rewarding than helping clients navigate their challenges and achieve their goals. It is truly an honor to be part of their journey toward growth and healing.
