Nicole earned her undergraduate degree in Psychological Science with a minor in Professional Writing from Fitchburg State University. While pursuing her Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling through Capella University, she became a parent to two neurodivergent boys—an experience that offered her a deeply personal and valuable perspective on neurodiversity. With eight years of experience working in residential settings, Nicole supported at-risk youth and neurodivergent populations, gaining hands-on experience in providing compassionate, individualized care. Before joining Lifebulb, she worked as a community clinician, offering in-home therapy to individuals with severe mental health challenges that impacted their ability to live independently. Her clinical experience includes working with diagnoses such as Schizophrenia, Borderline Personality Disorder, PTSD, Bipolar Disorder, Depression, and Autism. Nicole brings empathy, insight, and dedication to every client she works with.
I worked with a young woman who suffered from severe Agoraphobia; using Cognitive Restructuring we were able to identify her triggers and challenge negative thought processes that kept her stuck in the house. When she discharged she had gone on several vacations with family and had several more scheduled.
The sessions are completely based on the client- if you're not comfortable with something, there is no rush. I like to present very authentic to develop a good client-counselor rapport, as I feel, without good rapport we cannot work on those deeper challenges.
Our first session will focus on goal-setting, and the steps we will need to take to get you there. Additionally, we will discuss potential barriers that may get in the way of achieving the goal.
I really struggled with mental health in high school, my guidance counselor made such a tremendous impact on me, that I thank him for my career path. I've been through a lot, and I'd like to help others get through their challenges too.
Highlights
What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?
I aim to make everyone feel comfortable and provide a non-judgmental, authentic atmosphere to explore inner strengths and problem-solve challenging environments/situations. I am extensively trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy(DBT), and have a very trauma-informed approach. The pace of the treatment depends on the client and their feelings of readiness.
What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?
I utilize evidence-based therapies, including Psychotherapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Client-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Restructuring for PTSD (CR-PTSD), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Therapy & Trauma-Focused Therapy.
Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.
I have a very authentic and genuine attitude. I aim to make others feel comfortable and provide an accepting, non-judgmental stance to help the client explore themselves from a different perspective (i.e., looking for inner strengths.) I am very open about using the skills I teach and work to break stigmas that make mental health care difficult to access.
